Sign for Engagement Photos

My friends Sara and Jake are getting married next summer and recently asked me to help with their engagement photos. Sara wanted some crafts to add in as props on their shoot with Bella Rose photography. We spent a day dressing up a few things she found at Crafts Direct.

We stained it, yes you can do that to MDF, and then I got to work freehand writing out the “Save the Date.” This is why Sara wanted my help; she likes my handwriting. Lastly, I outlined the date with a gold paint pen to make it shimmer and stand out a little more.

Here’s a couple shots from the photo shoot with the prop.

We also spray painted a couple letters from the initials of their first name. I am the queen of spray paint and had tons of colors on hand, so we chose three that complimented each other: soft rose, gold metallic, and a flat gray. I like this color pallet because the metallic gold really makes the & stand out!

Sara and Jake did have these photos taken professionally, but I think making your own props for photos you take yourself could also be done. It’s just one way to incorporate crafts into another part of your life and elevate your family photos to the next level!
