Painted Vintage Sled Tutorial Christmas Decor
You may have caught me live on Facebook painting a beautiful vintage sled recently. I was not able to fully complete the two sleds I painted that night, so today I am thrilled to show you how they turned out! This post contains photos you can share and pin of this project as well as a shortened video tutorial so you can see how I put everything together. Here is my painted vintage sled tutorial…
I was able to snag a couple vintage sleds from my parent’s farm before Christmas. These wooden sleighs had been in storage for who knows how many decades. I cleaned them with water and lightly sanded the wood before I started painting.
As you can see in the video tutorial, painting the pine trees was not all that hard. The brush stroke used is a simple dabbing motion and you just repeat that in varying shades of evergreen or white.
The hand-lettered toboggan involved shadowing and I simply stapled on real evergreens and painted pine cones to give it an extra special touch.
These sleds make for a very welcoming front entrance to our home! If you are interested to see the red twig dogwood wreath or the planter topiary tutorials, watch this video.
Also, be sure to pin these images!

I love both the sleds. Love your creativity.
