Thank you Lisa! I think the curtains did make the biggest impact on the feel of the room, just like you said. I have thought about an area rug because I love how they ground the space and add interest. I’ve never put one over carpet before although I’ve seen others do it and it’s beautiful. I will consider it further because you reminded me it might be a great idea. However, I would not add another coffee table in the space. I think the one I have should be the focal point of the room, especially with how “loud” it is. You should get involved in some design Facebook groups and online forums to ask for help when designing your living room. I’ve found Houzz and Hometalk to be helpful! I’m sure just trying different things, you’ll land on a living room design you love. I have a secret for you: I don’t love this living room design in my home I wrote about here.
