DIY Photo Display Using Cupboard Doors

I was inspired by the movie “Keeping Up With the Joneses” starring Demi Moore to create a DIY photo display using cupboard doors! There was a unique and quirky arrangement along the stairwell in that movie’s home featuring black and white portraits of the family members making funny faces. I thought it was so cute and fun to have, I wanted to make something similar for our new house!

Finding the Cupboard Doors…

A while back our area’s Habitat for Humanity Restore was closing and I went in to snatch some discounted deals. I found these heavy duty white cupboards doors for a little less than $2 a piece! My idea was not to reface my cabinets, though. I thought they would make wonderful picture frames!

DIY Photo Display

Creating this craft was super easy because I had an aerosol can of 3M Photo Adhesive. I bought 11″ x 13″ prints (kind of spendy, but I got them 50% off during Black Friday sales) and cut them to size. Then I simply sprayed the back and stuck them to the cupboard door. It worked wonderfully and they look very professional, even without glass.

To hang them I installed eye hooks and ran wire along the back of each door. Then I nailed into the wall and hung the photos vertically to create a stunning effect. I have gotten SO many compliments on this display since installing it only a week ago. No matter what, it brings a smile to people’s faces when they walk in our house and I love that.

Here’s a few perfectly pinnable images you can share to Pinterest!
