DIY Nursery Decorations

My sister Christy just had her first baby (you might remember she asked me for this advice some time ago). I went to visit my new nephew a couple weeks ago and got my first peek at Christy’s nursery. Christy is an artist and very crafty. I couldn’t wait to see what she came up with. The nursery did not disappoint! Here are her diy nursery decorations…

Tissue Paper Kite

The first thing I noticed were all the decorations hanging from the ceiling. Christy’s house has a wooden ceiling so it was easy for her to attach decorations up there. This cute little kite caught my eye.

Christy used the tissue paper from the presents at her baby shower to create this ethereal kite. It turned out amazing!

Hot Air Balloons

IMG_20140904_105536Christy’s baby shower had awesome decorations thanks to our sister-in-law, Maureen. Maureen bought these paper lanterns to hang from the trees outside at the shower and afterwards, they went home with Christy. Christy wanted to use them as part of her nursery decor and got the idea to make them into hot air balloons. She attached Chobani greek yogurt cups to the bottoms of each lantern with string and then hung the decoration from the ceiling.
