Holiday Home Tour 2016 Poinsettia Themed
If you’re like me, you are excited about decorating for Christmas. Welcome to my holiday home tour 2016 where I decked the halls with pretty poinsettias! I hope I provide some inspiration for you, seeing as we all need a little Christmas in this polar vortex going on in Minnesota.

The best part about today is that I get to share my home alongside numerous other talented bloggers in a special holiday blog hop! I love doing blog hops for the holidays because it is so fun to see how other people decorate their homes to celebrate Christmas and ring in the New Year.
At the bottom of this post you can buzz on over to other bloggers’ homes to check them all out!
So, come on inside for my holiday home tour! This is our living room, the first space you enter when leaving the foyer up five steps. The stair railing you see in the corner I recently transformed from an outdated, ugly oak thing. It’s looking super festive with my three kiddos’ stockings hung on it. I just used shower curtain rings!
Not going to lie, I stole this idea from the genius Joanna Gaines. Her holiday home last year inspired me to hang stockings on the stairs because we don’t have a fireplace.

Moving into the living room, you see touches of Christmas on all the tabletops. My teal coffee table is decorated with a candy cane scented candle and pine cones I spray painted white.
I love our tree this year with its variety of shapes and colors, plus the giant red poinsettias! See a fun video of me & my kids decorating the Christmas tree here.
I even have a mini white tree this year on one of the end tables. Last year my living room looked completely different, so it is really rewarding to show off my new lamps and furniture with this decor!

Moving into the kitchen, I set a red tablescape with a poinsettia as my centerpiece.
It’s funny, I would never serve my dinner with this setting because I have three small children. I guess I am pretending what Christmas dinner would be like if there were only adults living in our house. This is a holiday home tour, after all. I need to pull out all the stops.
So usually, our kitchen table decor is pretty bare. This birch-wrapped candle with a wreath of evergreen and winter berries makes a simplistic centerpiece.
I placed these various fabric covered trees on the window sill in the dining room. Simply roll cardboard cereal boxes into a cone and cover them in fabric, ribbon, even tin foil!
Window sills should never be neglected, in my opinion. This handmade pottery vase was given to me by my sister, who is a ceramic artist. I think it looks beautiful in our kitchen window sill, filled with winterberry branches.
Also in the kitchen/dining room area, this wreath with glittery berries and poinsettias hangs on the wall.

This year, I even decorated our main floor bathroom for Christmas.
The shelves feature various red and white decor to make the bathroom feel totally different from the beachy vibe it usually has.

Somehow, this poinsettia actually makes our faucet look good.
So that is all. You’ve seen my holiday touches in the living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. When we invite guests over, they find a little bit of Christmas in every room!
Now, it’s time to share my friends’ holiday home tour blog hop with you. Click to view at least one of these amazing houses by others in blogland. I know I am going to grab a cup of coffee and stay a while.

I love it! The poinsettia theme is so classic and beautiful. I love the idea of hanging your stockings on the railing. And I have never thought about adding decorations to the bathroom, but it’s so pretty! My favorite though is your row of fabric covered trees. So simple, but so beautiful. Thanks for joining in the blog hop, it’s fun to see your home!
Thanks Kati! I love the poinsettias, too. This is my first year decorating the bathroom and I will definitely continue in the future!

Everything looks so pretty!! I love poinsettias, and your home is reminding me that I need to get some this year! Your dining table set up was perfect (even if it might already be put away with the kids, at least you have photo evidence of how pretty it looked!)
Thanks Jenny! So fun to tour your home as well! 🙂
